RESTORATION OF THE RITZ THEATRE

The Theatre of Gadsden has major plans to rehabiliate the Ritz Theatre into a true community showplace. A restored theatre would be a catalyst for growth and improvement in the Alabama City Historic District. TOG's goal is to preserve the theater's historical character but at the same time make changes to ensure the building meets the needs of today's audiences and artists. The restoration plans includes:

• Historically accurate façade restoration
• Historically restored performance auditorium with state-of-the-art sound, lighting and new scenic design shop
• Renovated and expanded backstage facilities
• Enhanced Safety Systems (fire sprinker, alarms, security)
• Restored Art-Deco Foyer
• Expanded modern restroom facilities on ground floor
• Renovated pre-function spaces
• New administrative offices
